Thermostatic sealed-tube method:

Most precise capillary melting point technique (tubes evacuated before sealing), involves finding two temperatures a few tenths of a degree apart at which, in one case, liquefaction is complete and, in the other, a few crystals persist after a long period of agitation at constant temperature. Result is supported by further data from HSDB (76°C).
