Nitrous oxide is an inorganic gas with a low octanol-water partition coefficient of 0.4. Adsorption to soil and sediment is therefore unlikely and no studies have been performed. Nitrous oxide is a gas formed naturally from agriculture and animals as part of the Nitrogen Cycle.
