The potential bioaccumulation of the Hydrocarbons, C5, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, were calculated using the TGD guideline and the log Kow based on read across from other pentanes. n-pentane was calculated to be 171, based on a log Kow of 3.45. The BCF of cyclopentane was calculated as 70.8 based on the log Kow of 3. Both these BCFs indicate that the pentane substances have a low potential to bioaccumulate in the lipids of ecological receptors.
