Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results on acute aquatic toxicity are available for three trophic levels. Due to their reliability, the following endpoints has been selected for determining the hazard potential of cylcohexane, oxidized, aq. ext. towards aquatic organisms:

Fish: LC50 (96 hours) 316 mg/L, nominal, Leuciscus idus , BASF AG 1987

Invertebrates: EC50 (48 hours)> 100mg/L, nominal, Daphnia magna ,BASF AG 1997

Algae:EC50 (72 hours) > 100mg/L, nominal, Desmodesmus subspicatus, BASF AG 2007

These results indicate, that cyclohexane, oxidized, aq. ext. is not acutely toxic to aquatic organisms.

Results of a single species toxicity test towards Pseudomonas putida show, that cyclohexane, oxidized, aq. ext. is not harmful to bacteria: EC10 (17h) 140.8 mg/L, nominal, Pseudomonas putida, BASF AG 1987.

Therefore, the inhibition of degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.

Since no chronic toxicity data are available, the PNECaqua has been derived from the most sensitive acute studies (Desmodesmus subspicatus, EC50 > 100 mg/L).
