Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Relative density at 20 °C is determined as 2.6 for solid and 1.49 for an aqueous solution (38.3%).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The key values of relative density are determined according to OECD guideline 109 under GLP. Relative density at 20 °C is determined as 2.6 for solid (Baltussen 2010) and 1.49 for an aqueous solution (38.3%) (Brekelmans 2010). Test results refer to sodium aluminate (NaAlO2) containing excess disodium oxide (Na2O) as stabiliser.

Density reported in peer reviewed handbook (Lide 2005): 4.63 g/cm3 (temperature is not stated).
