Additional information

No experimental studies investigating the abiotic hydrolysis of 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethyl acetate (CAS 112-15-2) are available. However, in accordance with Annex VIII, column 2, 9.2.2.1. of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, testing is not required since the substance is readily biodegradable. In addition, a supporting QSAR calculation (SPARC v4.5) indicates that hydrolysis is a negligible pathway for the environmental fate of 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethyl acetate in the environment [DT50 > 24 h (pH 7); Corti, 2021].
