Description of key information

OBSH with a purity of more than 90% (91-97%)  was found to be sensitive to shock using a fall weigth of 10 kg and a fall heigth of 40 cm, corresponding to 40 J, and with a fall weigth of 5 kg and fall heigth of 15 cm (25 J). OBSH of a purity of 80-85% was found not to be explosive, due to treatment by shock, friction or ignition.

OBSH of 91 to 97% purity was found to be explosive when shock treated by fall hammer of 5 and 10 kg with fall heigth of 15 and 40 cm. Explosivity was observed more often when OBSH was treated with 10 kg fall weigth compared to 5 kg. Additionally, OBSH of purity lower than 90% was found not to be explosive, when shock treated by fall hammer, friction, or flame source.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The experimental data suggest that OBSH with a purity of more than 90%, should be classified as explosive, whereas OBSH with a purity lower than 90% should not be classified as explosive.
