Additional information

Peppermint oil is a Natural Complex Substance (NCS) for which > 90% of the constituents is identified. Almost all of the constituents, comprising 93.5% of the composition of this NCS, are in the category of ready biodegradable substances. Therefore, the NCS Peppermint oil is considered as readily biodegradable.

Of the remaining 2 constituents, one comprising 4 % of the composition, is inherently biodegradable ('readily but not meeting the 10d-window') and 1 constituent (0.5%) is not readily biodegradable but complete primary degradation was observed.

As the substance is readily biodegradable, further studies on biodegradation have not been performed.
