PBT assessment: overall result

Reference
Name:
2-Pentanone oxime
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
2-Pentanone oxime
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistence (P) Assessment

The substance 2-Pentanone oxime (CAS 623-40-5) is not readily biodegradable (9% after 28 d, OECD 301B) and hydrolytically stable (half-life > 1 year at pH 4, 7 and 9). Thus, the test substance does meet the screening criterion for persistency and it is considered to be potentially persistent (P) or very persistent (vP).

Bioaccumulation (B) Assessment

2-Pentanone oxime (CAS 623-40-5) has a log Pow < 3. Therefore, the substance is not expected to be bioaccumulative and does not meet the Bioaccumulative (B) or very Bioaccumulative (vB) criteria

Toxicity (T) Assessment

The substance is classified as classified as STOT RE cat. 2. According to Regulation EC No 1272/2008. Thus, the substance is assessed as T.

In conclusion, the substance is not PBT/vPvB.
