Additional information

The test substance, 2,3 -epoxypropyl o-tolyl ether had a maximum biodegradation of 17% after 28 days of activated sludge contact in two independent O.E.C.D. 301B studies. Therefore, the test substance is not readily biodegradable under the conditions of the studies. However, with a measured Log Pow of 2.5 the test substance has a low probability to bioaccumulate in aquatic species. Furthermore, the test substance has a relatively rapid rate of hydrolysis in water with a measured half-life of 9 -10.5 hours at 25°C. Based on the results from an O.E.C.D. test guideline 121 study with a Log Koc of 2.32, the test substance has a low to moderate potential to adsorb to sediment and soil.
