Description of key information

The bioaccumulation potential of DCDPS in water breathing organisms is considered low and poses no concern.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
82 L/kg ww

Additional information

DCDPS has a low tendency for bioaccumulation in aquatic systems. It is characterized a polar non-volatile substance, having no tendency for enrichment in aquatic systems due to the low log Kow < 4 (Kelly et al 2004, Gobas et al 2009). Fish concentrated non-radiolabelled DCDPS in the experiment by a factor of 75 to 82 L/kg whole body ww (NITE 2002), confirming a low potential for bioconcentration.
