Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

Table below gives an overview of the regional RWC-ambient PEC values that are determined for dissolved barium concentrations in EU-surface waters. Measurements considered representative for their country are indicated in bold and used for the calculation of a median value for Europe. A best-fit was fitted through these points and the 50th percentile was taken. The median value of the country-specific RWC-ambient PECs, 38.9 μg Ba/L is thus considered as a relevant generic value of RWC ambient Ba-concentrations in EU-surface waters. RWC-ambient PECs are between 1.1 and 3.0 times higher than the typical background levels (calculated from the FOREGS database) for those countries.

Table: Overview of available regional RWC-ambient PEC values in EU-surface waters
