Additional information

Three studies are available for skin irritation, all performed with 3 rabbits and according to or similar to OECD 404. The studies were based on test material that had a molecular weight ranging from 280–480.

Slight erythemy was observed in all three studies with a maximum score of 1. All findings were found to be reversible by 72 hours and do not warrant classification according to the EU scheme.

Three studies are available on eye irritation, all performed similar to or according to OECD 405. The studies was based on test material that had a molecular weight ranging from 480 -280.

Slight irritation was observed in one study (480 g/mol), moderately irritating in one study (280 g/mol) and irritation in the other (360 g/mol). Ethylenediamine, propoxylated is therefore considered to be irritating to the eye.

Effects on eye irritation: irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

The findings in the available studies on skin irritation do not warrant classification according to the EU criteria.

The reported slight irritation of the eye in one study and the irritation reported in the other, warrant classification as "irritating" to the eye.
