Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Laser diffraction data for the Lead Registrant's dicopper oxide show the following volume-rated particle size distribution: D(v,0.1) 0.374 µm; D (v,0.5) 1.53 µm; D(v,0.9) 3.42 µm. The corresponding number-based distribution is as follows: D(n,0.1) 0.125 µm; D (n,0.5) 0.174 µm; D(n,0.9) 0.342 µm. Based on the results from the number distribution, the material is not considered to fall under the EC’s recommended definition of nanomaterial (50% < 100 nm based on particle number). Joint registrants that produce or import dicopper oxide corresponding to this specification are able to refer to the Lead Registrant's granulometry data for the purpose of REACH registration.

Additional information

The Lead Registrant produces dicopper oxide with the following volume-rated particle size distribution: D(v, 0.1) 0.374, D(v,0.5) 1.53 and D(v,0.9) 3.42. Values for the number-rated distribution were determined to be D(n,0.1) 0.125, D(n, 0.5) 0.174 and D(n,0.9) 0.342.
