Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
Castor oil, sulphated, sodium salt
Reference substance:
Castor oil, sulphated, sodium salt
Reference substance:
Castor oil, sulphated, sodium salt
Reference substance:
Castor oil, sulphated, sodium salt
Reference substance:
Castor oil, sulphated, sodium salt
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Castor oil sulfated sodium salt is readily biodegradable and therefore satisfies the criteria set out in Aneex XIII for not being Persistent

Bioaccumulation: at the higher log Kow values predicted by KOWWIN, the BAF and BCF predictions are far below the 2000 criterion. Weight of evidence comparison of predicted BCFs and BAFs to B Criterion: BCF>2000 L/kg and vB Criterion

Toxic: the substance has reliable tests for all the trophic levels for the acute and long term exposures.

The more sensitive species and effect at lower dose has been found in Fish, for which a reduction in the lenght of the juvenile fish has been reported in the FELS test (OECD 211), that sets the NOELR ca. 0.62 mg/l.
