Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

In contact with the ignition source, the test material melted and could not be ignited with a flame. After the experiment, a white melt remained.

Flammability in contact with water and Pyrophoric properties:

The appraisal of the molecular structure indicates no risk with respect to pyrophoric properties or the potential of evolving flammable gases in contact with water or humid air. Furthermore, the test item did not show any spontaneous ignition or formation of flammable gases in studies performed in aqueous test systems.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information

Description of key information

non flammable (preliminary screening test (EU A.10) and assessment based on the chemical structure and the test material properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

In view of negative results of the preliminary flammability screening test for solids, the chemical structure and the experience in handling, there was no indication of flammability of the test material. Consequently, there was no labelling requirement regarding flammability.
