Description of key information

The substance is not toxic to terrestrial organisms.

Additional information

The terrestrial toxicity of Acetic acid, oxo-, sodium salts, reaction products with ethylenediamine and phenol, iron sodium salts is assessed based on one study investigating the toxicity of a suitable read acoss substance to earthworms. For justification of the read across aproach see the respective document attached in chapter 13. In this study performed according to OECD Guideline 207 and GLP, FeNaEDDHMA did not induce significant mortality of Eisenia foetida at 1000 mg a.i./kg dry soil after 14 days of exposure (14d-LC50/NOEC > 1000 mg/kg soil dw).

Short-term toxicity tests are considered sufficient to cover the endpoint, since the sustance is highly soluble in water and the logPow and adsorption potential is low. The test results do not indicate that the test substance is toxic to terrestrial organisms. Thus, no further tests with terrestrial arthropods, plants or microorganisms are considered to be needed for the terrestrial hazard assessment of the substance.
