- Melting / freezing pt.:
- 323 °C
- Decomposition:
- yes
- Decomp. temp.:
- 325 °C
- Conclusions:
- Decomposition starts from the melting substance, with a melting point of 323 °C and a decompisition temperature of 325 °C.
The DTA shows an endothermal reaction with an onset at 322.84 °C (rounded value of 323 °C taken as melting point) and a peak at 324.21 °C. Decomposition starts from the melting substance by a two-stage process. The (exothermal) decomposition reaction shows an onset at 325.08 °C (rounded value of 325 °C taken as decomposition temperature) and a peak at 330.57 °C, the decomposition energy is -610 J/k (mean from 2 measurements).

- Test procedure:
- other: burning index according to VDI 2263, part 1
- Remarks on result:
- other: burning index 5
- Remarks:
- burning with flame or spark generation
- Test procedure:
- burning rate test: preliminary screening test
- Burning time:
- 115 s
- Remarks on result:
- other: burning time for a distance of 100 mm
Any other information on results incl. tables
the test item showed burning with flame when an ignition source was applied. A propagation of the combustion was observed and assessed as combustion index 5.
Thus, the burning rate had to be determined:
Burning time for 100 mm: 151 s, corresponding to 0.87 mm/s
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- not classified based on GHS criteria
- Conclusions:
- With a burning time for 100 mm of 115 s (burning rate: 0.87 mm/s), the test item has not to be classified as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
