Additional information

There are no reliable study available on carcinogenicity, however, on the basis of the information currently available on mutagenicity, TNPP is considered as a non-genotoxic substance, so concerns for cancer caused by a genotoxic mechanism are low.

Considering the potential for carcinogenicity by a non-genotoxic mechanism, no evidence of a significant increase of tumour incidence was found in the 2-year chronic studies carried out on a small sample of rats and dogs. Although only limited data are available, these data tend to indicate that TNPP is not of concern for a carcinogenic potential.
