Principles of method if other than guideline:
Column elution method for solubility <0.01 g/L

This method is based on the elution of a test substance with water from a micro-column which is charged with an inert support material, such as glass beads or sand, coated with an excess of test substance. The water solubility is determined when the mass concentration of the eluate is constant.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:

Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch no.: 13
Key result
Water solubility:
1.74 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7.42
Details on results:
Average of values measured at different flow rates were 1.767 mg/L and 1.717 mg/L with standard deviations of 0.11 mg/L and 0.11 mg/L, respectively.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results: slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
The water solubility of N-tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide was determined at 1.74 mg/L at 20 °C and pH of ca. 7.6.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of N-tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide was determined according to OECD Guideline 105 "Water solubility" (1995) and EU method A.6 (1992). The column method was used and showed a value of 1.74 mg/L at 20 °C. The concentration of

N-tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide in the aqueous solution was determined by HPLC. The pH value of the mobile phase for HPLC was 7.42.
