Description of key information

Acima (2000) Determination of Density and Melting Point of Di-n-butyltin-dilaurate Personal Communication from D. Maier to Parametrix, Inc.
Amica (2000) is conducted in line with sound scientific principles and has been allocated a Klimisch score of 2. This has been used as the key study.
Enviro Control Inc. (1980) Hazard information review-dibutylbis-(lauryloxy)stannane. Draft report IR-113 prepared for TSCA Interagency Testing Committee In: Freij L (ed.) KEMI Report No 11/94, Mono- and Di- Substituted Organotins Used as Plastic Additives, Volume 1. Environmental Hazard Assessment (Walterson E et al.). The Swedish National Chemicals Inspectorate.
Result: Melting point was reported as 22-27 ºC at 760 mm Hg
Merck (2008) Safety Data Sheet According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) for dibutyltin dilaurate for synthesis Merck Schuchardt OHG, Hohenbrum, Germany. The Merck Chemical Database Online. http://www.merck.de.
Result: The MSDS for this material reported the melting point to be 25-27 ºC.
Enviro Control (1980) is taken from a government report and Merck (2008) is a Safety Data Sheet and so both have been allocated a Klimisch score of 4.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
