Description of key information

The short-term toxicity of the test susbstance was determined in freshwater and saltwater fish (Lepomis macrochirus and Menidia beryllina, respectively). For both species the LC50s were > 10000 mg/L. For further details see key data in endpoint record 6.1.1.003.
The publication of Bridie, A.L. et al. (1979b) delivered an LC50 (24 h) of > 5000 mg/L (as stated there determined by interpolation from a graph of the log of the concentration versus % mortality). However, information about results are limited and it is not clear if any animals had died in the course of the study. 2-ethoxyethanol was one chemical amongst others that were tested.
