Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

The following aquatic toxicity data are available for classification of DTO:

- Reliable short-term LL50/EL50 values have been determined in tests conducted with water-accommodated fractions (WAFs). The resulting are >100, between 5000 and 10000 and circa 3300 mg/L for fish, invertebrates and algae.

- A NOELR of circa 300 mg/L has been determined in the test with algae

However, no classification is considered necessary because the substance is readily biodegradable.

- There are no data for long-term toxicity to fish but it is not expected that fish would be any more susceptible to the effects of the substance than invertebrates or algae.

It is proposed that DTO should not be classified for aquatic environmental hazard.
