Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Standardization:

-with indium (99% purity Mettler) standard

-results: Tonseta=156.52°C,

-conclusion: as experimental Tonset is comprised between 156.3°C and 156.9°c which are the validation criteria, the test is validated.

a Tonset is the conventional temperature of fusion corresponding to the intersection of the line of greatest slope of the phenomenon with the extrapolated baseline.

Experimental sample conditions:

-crucible used: aluminium

-Mass of test item: 9 -11 mg

-Temperature program:

Ramp heating phase 1: from 100°C to 140°C at 2°C/min, Ramp cooling: from 140°C to -50°C at 10°C/min,

Ramp heating phase 2: from -50°C to 140°C at 2°C/min

-Gas used: Nitrogen, 50 mL/min

Interpretation:

The thermograms shows followed profile:

-Heating ramp 1: a complex profile of melting endotherm appears from 45°C and streches out to 120°C

-Cooling ramp: a complex crystallization phenomenon occurs from 90°C

-Heating ramp 2: the reversibility of the fusion is shown

Conclusion:

As it is quite difficult to measure Tonset (multi constituent substance), a range of melting point is given.

Conclusions:
The range of melting point of DIACIDES AGS is from > 45°C to 120°C.
Executive summary:

The range of melting point of DIACIDES AGS is from > 45°C to 120°C. The proportional composition of the test substance is as follows: 51.6% glutaric acid (CAS Nr. 110-94-1), 23.5% adipic acid (CAS Nr. 124-04-9), 16.6% succinic acid (CAS Nr. 110-15-6). (Rhodia, 2008)
