Additional information

The growth inhibition induced in Scenedesmus subspicatus by an exposure to the substance was tested in a study conducted according to German standard DIN 38412, part 9. At termination of the study an EC50 of 74.4 mg/l based on the algal growth rate was determined (BASF AG, 1988).

Further information is available for two salts of naphthalenesulphonic acid, 1 -NSDA sodium salt and 2 -NSA, ammonium salt, both studies revealed EC50 values above 100 mg/l..
