Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The toxicity of N-cyclohexylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide on soil dwelling organisms was tested in individual studies according OECD TG 208, OECD TG 222 and OECD TG 216.
Toxicity to terrestrial plants OECD 208:
The effect of the test item N-Cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolesulfenamide on the emergence and growth of six species of higher terrestrial plants (A. cepa, A. sativa, B. rapa, C. sativus, P. sativum, S. lycopersicum) was tested under laboratory conditions according to OECD Guideline 208 (adopted 19 July 2006).
No effects were found on either seedling emergence or seedling survival.
The lowest observed values for the end points EC10, EC50, LOEC and NOEC were found with shoot fresh weight and were as follows:
EC10 = 37.6 mg/kg dw soil (A. cepa)
EC50 = 95.2 mg/kg dw soil (A.cepa)
LOEC = 100mg/kg dw soil (A.cepa, B. rapa, P. sativum S. lycopersicum)
NOEC = 31.6 mg/kg dw soil (A. cepa, B. rapa, P. sativum, S. lycopersicum)
Toxicity to soil macroorganisms OECD 222:
In a GLP compliant Reproduction toxicity study to the earthworm Eisenia fetida in artificial soil including 5% peat the substance N-Cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolesulfenamide (CAS 95-33-0) was tested according OECD Guideline No. 222 for the Testing of Chemicals (adopted July 29, 2016).
The studied test parameters include the mortality and biomass of adult specimen after 28 days and the reproduction after 56 days. Additionally, the morphology and behaviour of the adult and juvenile worms was observed.
For the test parameters mortality, reproduction and biomass no effect up until the highest test item concentration (500 mg test item /kg soil dw) was determined.
Hence, the NOEC and LOEC for all three parameters are ≥500 mg test item/kg soil dw and >500 mg test item/kg soil dw, respectively.
The LC50 (mortality) and EC50 (reproduction) are also determined as >500 mg test item/kg soil dw.
Toxicity to soil microorganisms OECD 216:
Adverse effects on N-transformation were observed at a nominal test item concentration of 512 mg/kg soil dry weight with nitrate concentration statistically significantly reduced compared to the control by 89.5%.
Effective concentrations (ECX) could not be determined due to the structure of the data.
The LOEC and NOEC were 512 mg/kg soil dry weight and 128 mg/kg soil dry weight, respectively.
