Additional information

Fourteen chronic data are available for 1 species of arthropod soil invertebrate exposed to a variety of natural EU and North American soils. Reliable chronic NOEC/EC10 values range from 14.3 to 1000 mg added Co/kg dw for reproduction by the springtail, Folsomia candida (De Schamphelaere et al, 2005; Lock et al., 2004). Below is the accepted high quality arthropod soil macro-organism study, for both the added cobalt and total cobalt values, used for derivation of the HC5 and terrestrial PNEC.

Table X. High quality studies for arthropod soil macro-organisms used for derivation of the HC5 and terrestrial PNEC

Added NOEC or EC 10 (mg Co/Kg dw)

Total NOEC or EC10 (mg Co/Kg dw)
