Description of key information

Pour point is the appropriate descriptor of petroleum stream characteristics. The pour point range for unrefined/acid treated oils is -35 to 75°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Unrefined/acid treated oils have a pour point range of -35 to 75°C (Sequeira, 1994). Although the information of the method used for pour point determination is not known, the information has been provided by the company from secondary sources and is considered reliable with restriction and suitable for use.

Supporting measured pour point data for an unrefined lubricant base oil (CAS No. 64741-50-0) has been reported to be 15.5°C (API, 1987).
