Boiling point

Description of key information

A boiling point study is not considered necessary for kieselguhr soda ash flux calcined based on melting point data.  

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII (required in Section 7.3) of REACH Regulation 1907/2006 the study does not need to be conducted for solids if the melting point is above 300ºC. The melting point of kieselguhr soda ash flux calcined was determined to be > 723 K (equivalent to > 450 ºC. A boiling point study is therefore not required.
