Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The standard boiling point is described as the temperature at which the pressure of the saturated vapour of a liquid is the same as the standard atmospheric pressure, 101.325 kPa.
According to column 2 of Annex VII (standard information requirements for substances manufactured or imported in quantities of 1 tonne or more) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 the test does not need to be conducted for solids which decompose before boiling.
Sulphuric acid, compound with graphite is an inorganic solid, consisting of natural graphite and variable amounts of intercalated sulphuric acid. The substance decomposes before boiling when being heated. Against this background, determination of the melting point is technically not feasible and not required under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH).
