Description of key information

No sorption/desorption test according OECD 106 or Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc ) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) have been performed for MCA or SMCA because MCA is a weak acid and based on the physicochemical properties (log Pow = 0.49, S = 1000 g/L), the substance is expected to have a very low potential for adsorption. This is confirmed by very low Koc values as estimated by KOCWIN of 1.44 L/kg (MCI) and 2.672 L/kg (Pow). The mean value of 2.1 L/kg is used. Considering the low pKa of MCA it was decided to use the Koc of SMCA (CAS no 3926 -62 -3) of 0.73 L/kg for predicting the partitioning in the environment.
