Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex es XIII and IX, the adsorption / desorption study (required in section 9.3.1 and 9.3.3) do not need to be conducted as the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly.
This expectation that ptBP decomposes rapidly is supported by the review of the information presented concerning biodegradation which indicates that ptBP is readily biodegradable.

Additional information

Information regarding adsorption/desorption of ptBP was calculated using the Estimation Programs Interface (EPI) SuiteTM United States Environmental Protection Agency MPBPVP Program (v1.43), which predicted a value of 1286 L/kg from molecular connectivity indices (MDI) and a value of 837.2 L/kg from Log Kow. The high predicted adsorption coefficients indicate that ptBP will have a low mobility in soil.
