Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex VII "The study does not need to be conducted if:
there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule, ..."
Succinic acid contains no chemical groups associated with explosivity, as they are listed in the ECHA "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment" or the ECHA "Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria".
Succinic acid is therefore not considered to be explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance contains none of the reactive groups that could be responsible for explosive properties. Therefore explosive properties of succinic acid are unlikely.

The test substance is therefore not classified as explosive.
