First-aid measures

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

If inhaled: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathin is difficult, give oxygen. If no breathing, give artificial respiration, perferably mouth to mouth. Seek medical advice.

After accidental ingestion rinse mouth with water. Give plenty of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical advice.

Emergency equipment: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the work location.

Fire-fighting measures

Protective equipment: In the event of fire, wear self contained breathing apparatus.

Extinguishing media

- Suitable : Preferably use: Water, Foam

- Not suitable : None. If there is a fire close by, use suitable extinguishing agents.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: do not breath dust.

Personal protective equipment:

- respiratory protection device with a particle filter.

- appropriate gloves.

- suitable protective clothing.

Environmental precautions: prevent spilled substance from entering water supplies or water courses.

Methods for clean up: Take up mechanically and collect in suitable container for disposal.

- Disposal : Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Storage:  Keep container tightly closed. Mechanical ventilation is recommended.

Incompatible products : Acids.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures : Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Control parameters

Exposure limit values (Human Health)

- Occupational exposure limit values (most European countries) inert dust :       Inhalable dust - 8 h TWA: 10 mg/m3.

Respirable dust - 8 h TWA: 3 mg/m3.

- ACGIH Threshold Limit Values  (U.S.A./A.C.G.I.H.) :  Inhalable Particles - TLV (TWA) : 10 mg/m3.

Personal protective equipment

- Respiratory protection : If the occupational exposure limit is exceeded :Respiratory protective device with a particle filter.

- Hand protection : Appropriate gloves. In case of mixture with other substances, request advice from your glove supplier. Protective gloves must be chosen according to the function of the work station: other chemicals which may be handled, physical protection necessary (resistance to cutting, puncture, heat), dexterity required. Use suitable chemical-resistant protective gloves (compliant with

Standard EN 374-1)

- Eye protection : Safety spectacles.

- Skin and body protection : Impermeable clothing.

Hygiene measures : General good industrial hygiene practice.

Stability and reactivity

Stability : Very hygroscopic product.

Hazardous reactions

- Conditions to avoid : On contact with humidity and in the presence of heat, the volume of the product may expand causing the drum to burst. Exothermic decomposition.

Further information : When dissolving in acids, carry out with caution

Disposal considerations

RESIDUES FROM PRODUCT

Destruction/Disposal : Dispose of materials or solid residues at a licensed site.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING

Decontamination/cleaning : Clean with water.

Destruction/Disposal : Entrust the thoroughly decontaminated packaging to a licensed waste-contractor.
