Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substances, Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Fly Ash and Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Bottom Ash, were tested in acute immobilisation test on Daphnia magna.
The test was performed according to method C.2 – Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test, Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, published in O.J.L 142, 2008.
Since the test substances are poorly soluble in dilution water at concentrations needed for the test, a stock saturated solution (nominal concentration 100 mg.L-1) of the test substance in dilution water was prepared for preliminary and limit test.
The studies were performed without the analytical determination of the test substances concentrations. The nominal concentrations of the test substance were used for all evaluations and results. Only concentrations of metals in stock saturated solution were analysed in the limit test.

Additional information

The highest immobilisation 10 % was observed in limit test. Therefore exact values of EC50 could not be calculated and the values of EC are given in the form of a range.

The NOEC and EC100 values are identified by direct observation.

The nominal concentrations of the test substance were used for all evaluations and results.
