Endpoint Summary:

Information describing exposure related observations were limited to a single study that was assigned as a K3 for reliability, thus data were generally insufficient to characterize this endpoint. During a clinical evaluation of male workers at an alkaline accumulator facility conducted by Friberg (1950), three workers died during the course of surveillance. The author partially attributed employment at the facility as a contributor to the reported health conditions in two of the three workers. However, given the uncertainty associated with these case studies (e.g., nickel (di)hydroxide exposure not evaluated, medical records not thoroughly evaluated, etc.), and the lack of other data, it is not possible to draw any meaningful conclusions regarding exposure related observations for nickel (di)hydroxide.
