Additional information

Two key studies (Klimisch scores of 1 and 2) were identified and included a marine species, the Atlantic silverside (Menidia menidia) and a freshwater species, the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). These key studies reported 96-hr LC50 values of 5.1 and 4.2 mg/L for the silverside and rainbow trout, respectively. Four supporting studies were also identified that tested freshwater species which included Poecillia reticulata, Pimphales promelas and Cyprinodon variegatus. Endpoint values (96-hr LC50) for the supporting studies ranged from 9.6 to 49 mg/L. A total of 12 additional studies were included as supporting studies with three reported endpoints from a study considered secondary literature with a Klimisch score of 4. These endpoints were reported for Oncorynchus mykiss, Ictalurus punctatus and Lepomis macrochirus with values of 14, 88 and 210 mg/L. The remaining 9 studies had a Klimisch scores of 3 and were considered unreliable due to inadequate study designs.
