Description of key information

None of the Rosin ester substances are considered to be flammable, flammable on contact with water or pyrophoric.

Resin acids and rosin acids esters with pentaerythritol is not highly flammable, there is no spontaneous ignition or evolution of gases on contact with water, pyrophoricity is waived on the basis of handling and use.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Experimental GLP studies, conducted according to EU A10 and A12, were provided for Resin acids and rosin acids esters with pentaerythritol (Chilworth Technology, 2010).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data indicates that Resin acids and rosin acids esters with pentaerythritol are not classified as flammable.
