Reliable toxicity data are available for the long-term effect of vanadium on 8 plants species, 3 invertebrates and 2 microbial processes. In total, 69 reliable NOEC and EC10 values were identified for ecotoxicological effects of V to terrestrial organisms, ranging from 2.0 mg V/kg added V (for the effect of sodium metavanadate on reproduction of Enchytraeus crypticus, Lanno, 2016) to 960 mg added V/kg (for the effect of sodium metavanadate on substrate induced nitrification, Baken et al., 2011). A total of 45 effect concentrations were derived from tests starting quickly (within 7 days) after amending the soil with a soluble V source, whereas 24 reliable EC10 or NOEC values are available for effects of V in soils after long-term equilibration (ageing) subsequent to spiking the soil with a soluble vanadium source.
