Additional information

This substance has no hydrolysable structural features and would be expected to be stable in water. Oxidation would not be expected under normal environmental conditions.

A half-life of 18 h for photodegradation by hydroxyl radicals in the air is estimated using an established method.

Tetradecan-1-ol, and its structural analogues, are readily biodegradable and there is consistent evidence of very rapid biotransformation in aquatic and terrestrial substrates.

In view of the ready biodegradability, no further information on abiotic removal processes is necessary.
