Description of key information

A QSAR value gave a BCF of 167 L/kg ww.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
167 L/kg ww

Additional information

A QSAR value was generated using the standard method in the TGD (2003). This resulted in a BCF of 167 L/kg ww which is similar to that reported in a CITI study conducted in 1992 and used in the EU RAR (2004) for cyclohexane. We were unable to obtain a copy of the CITI (1992) study that was used in the EU RAR (2004) for cyclohexane, which reports a BCF of 129. However, the calculated and measured results are very similar and therefore we have elected to use the calculated value (Veith et al. 1979) as it is more conservative and because a robust summary could not be prepared for the CITI study because we have not seen it.
