SFL is primarily composed of inorganic substances (the major constituent is calcium carbonate, along with silicon dioxide and a small amount of other inorganic salts) and therefore does not undergo hydrolysis.The remainder of SFL is composed of organic plant material which is naturally present in the environment.Therefore, any hydrolysis that the organic portion undergoes would be analogous to that which would occur in the natural environment.
