Additional information

According to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation EC (No) 1272/2008 the "safety net" classification as Aquatic Chronic 4 (H413) should be considered for poorly soluble substances for which no acute toxicity is recorded at levels up to the water solubility and which are not rapidly degradable and have an experimentally determined BCF ≥ 500 (or, if absent, a log Kow ≥ 4), indicating a potential to bioaccumulate, unless other scientific evidence exists (e.g., chronic toxicity NOECs > 1 mg/L or at the solubility level).

Although the substance is not readily biodegradable, it has an experimentally determined log Pow of 3.56 at 25°C (EU method A.8), indicating only a low potential to bioaccumulate. Further, long-term data is available from a prolonged toxicity study according to OECD 204: NOEC (21d) = 0.33 mg/L (at the solubility level of the substance).

Conclusion on classification

The substance does not need to be classified and labelled according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council, since not all criteria for the "safety net" classification apply here.
