First-aid measures

Inhalation: remove patient from exposure and bring to fresh air.  If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration and get medical advice/attention immediately.

Skin contact: wash skin with water and soap, and rinse thoroughly.    If skin irritation occurs, get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact: check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting upper and lower eyelids, for several minutes. Get medical advice/attention.

Ingestion: Seek medical advice/attention.  If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire and explosion hazard: Negligible fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame.                                                                                                                          Extinguishing media:  Dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or regular foam. For larger fires use water spray, fog or regular foam.                           Firefighting: Move container from fire area if you can do it without risk. Apply cooling water to sides of container that are exposed to flames until well after the fire is out. Extinguish using agent indicated: do not use water stream directly on material. If larger amounts of combustible materials are        involved, use water spray or fog in flooding amounts. Avoid breathing corrosive dust and fumes burning material, keep upwind.                                       Hazards Combustion Products: Thermal decomposition may release toxic and/or hazardous gases.

Accidental release measures

Occupational spill: Stop leak if you can do it without risk. For small spills, take up sand and or other absorbent material and place into containers for   later disposal. For small dry spills, vacuum or shovel material into clean, dry container and cover.   For larger spills, dike ahead of spill for later disposal.

Handling and storage

Storage: Avoid formation of dust. Observe national and regional provisions in force. Store away from incompatible substances ( Bromine Pentafluoride: violent reaction which may ignite, Chlorine Trifluoride: violent reaction that may ignite, Lithium: reacts, Magnesium: when heated a violent                 detonation may occur, Potassium: reacts with incandescence , Sodium: reacts violently).
