Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- The mean relative density of White liquor in a mixture with its lowest practical water content concentration of 83 %

was determined to be 1.1717 (EC 440/2008 A.3, OECD 109, pycnometric method).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.172

Additional information

In the Key study the relative density of White liquor mixture was determined by using a pycnometer method. The dry solids/water ratio of the tested sample was ca. 17/83 % by weight. As a result the mean relative density of the test substance was determined to be 1.1717. In a study report by Shen & Rosenholm (1998) White liquor mixture was determined to be 1028.3 kg/m3 (1.0283 g/l). According to Paulonis & Krishnagopalan (1994) examination of the White liquor mixture data indicated that the temperature effect on density was approximately linear over the range 70 - 90oC.
