Description of key information

Ash (residues), coal are not harmful to microorganisms and  the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is also not anticipated.

Several activated sludge studies according to OECD 209 are available for a ashes (residues), coal.The NOEC is greater than 100 mg/L (WAF).There are no toxicity in the range of water solubility of ashes (residues), coal and the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is also not anticipated.

In conclusion, ashes (residues), coal are not toxic to waste water (activated sludge) bacteria at a loading rate of 100 mg/L.
