Short term
The acute toxicity of Versatic 10, as measured by mortality to rainbow trout (Oncorrhynchus mykis) was evaluated in freshwater. Under the conditions of this study, the LL50 was >100 = mg/L based on measured concentrations of the test substance in water.
The acute toxicity of Versatic 10 as measured by mortality to the water flea (Daphnia magna) was evaluated in freshwater. Neodecanoic acid produced a 48 hour LC50 of >1000 mg/L under the conditions of this study
The 72 -h LL50 for algal growth rate for Versatic 10 was > 100 mg/L.
Long Term
A 30 d Chronic Value (ChV) of 1.5 mg/L was calculated using the ECOSAR module of EPISuite v4.00.
No effects were seen on growth from 14 d exposure of Oncorrhynchus mykis to 2.22 mg/L neodecanoic acid.
For long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates, Neoheptanoic acid produced a 7-Day NOEC of 3.4 mg/L based on offspring surviving per adult.
