Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

All experimental and literature data indicate no oxidizing properties. The substance has no auto-flammability, flammality nor explossive properties.

  • Aluminum Oxide which is the main constituent of Al dross, is among the most stable oxides as shown in Ellingham diagram.
  • It should be noted that no self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 405 °C, according to the testing guideline for auto-flammability (solids - determination of relative self-ignition temperature) (endpoint 4.12).
  • Substance remained unchanged after contact with flame.(endpoint 4.13)
  • The DSC-measurement in a closed glass crucible with the test item showed no exothermal effects in the temperature range 25 – 500 °C.(endpoint 4.14)
