Description of key information

According to the literature, the test substance melts at a temperature of 47.2 °C. The melting point referred in the literature is related to iron trinitrate nonahydrate. Upon heating, the nonahydrate will initially release water promoting the iron nitrate to dissolve in its own hydrate water at 47.2 ⁰C. It therefore may be appropriate to refer to this event at 47.2 °C as the melting point of the nonahydrate.
