Biodegradation data for the substance itself and read across to Phenol, dodecyl-, branched (CAS 121158-58-5) as well as Phenol, nonyl-, branched (CAS 84852-15-3) indicate that Benzaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-5-dodecyl, oxime, branched is not biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Inherent biodegradability after adaption of inoculum is assumed in water and sediment based on test results with adapted inoculum and simulation test data with branched 4-nonylphenol. In soil, branched nonylphenol is rapidly integrated into organic matter, such as humin, but slowly mineralized. Therefore, in order to apply a very conservative approach, persistence of the substance is assumed in the environment.
